The KENNAMETAL 6371076 is a carbide replaceable tip drill designed for precision hole-making in demanding materials. Built around the KTFST series platform, this drill accepts a solid carbide tip with the KCMS15 manufacturer grade and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating for extended wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. It features a 140-degree drill point angle, a 2-flute helical configuration with a regular spiral, and through-coolant delivery to flush chips and control heat at the cutting zone. The tip is held by clamp with an insert seat size Q, making tip replacement fast without removing the drill body from the spindle. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in production shops are the primary installers of this tooling.
This drill is engineered for use on stainless steel workpieces (ISO material group M), including fine-grain material grades. Typical applications include straight drilling, inclined or angled exit conditions, and stacked-plate setups where chip control and consistent hole quality are critical. At 13.5mm cutting diameter (17/32 inch fractional equivalent, 0.5315 decimal inch), it fits machining centers and CNC turning centers requiring a reliable, repeatable replaceable-tip solution in that diameter range.
Designed as a replaceable-tip drill within the KTFST series platform, compatible with KTFST series drill bodies accepting insert seat size Q. Tip ISO number is KTFST13500HPLM with KCMS15 grade.
Installation and tip replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing the carbide tip. Use the correct torque wrench or hex key as specified by KENNAMETAL tooling documentation for the clamp screw - do not overtighten or use impact tools on the clamping mechanism. Verify coolant passages are clear and through-coolant pressure is within the machine and toolholder specifications before resuming cutting operations.
