The KENNAMETAL 6371053 is a replaceable carbide drill tip designed for precision drilling in demanding materials. Built to the KTFST series standard, this tip features a 0.4213-inch (10.70 mm) cutting diameter and a 140-degree point angle optimized for stability on entry and exit. The substrate is solid carbide with a fine grain structure and a PVD-applied AlTiN coating, making it well suited for applications where heat resistance and edge retention are critical. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal control during high-feed drilling cycles. This tip is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments.
This replaceable tip is intended for use in stainless steel and other M-grade workpiece materials where tool life and hole quality are priorities. The HPL insert geometry and regular helical flute design support consistent chip flow in through-hole and blind-hole drilling. Rated applications include standard drilling, inclined exit drilling, and stacked-plate drilling. The two-flute, two-margin configuration with coolant-through passages makes it a practical choice for both vertical machining centers and horizontal boring setups running high-pressure coolant.
Designed as a replaceable tip for KTFST series drill bodies accepting Insert Seat Size K. The ISO Number for this tip is KTFST10700HPLM with Grade KCMS15.
Installation is performed by machinists using the appropriate clamp and torque tool specified for the KTFST toolholder body. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before removing or seating the tip. Verify the insert seat is clean and free of chips or debris before clamping to ensure proper seating and runout control. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping procedure to avoid tip damage or premature failure.
