The KENNAMETAL 6371014 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the KTFST series, designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding metalworking applications. The drill accepts a solid carbide KTFST10000HPL tip with KCMS15 fine-grain grade and an AlTiN PVD coating for elevated heat and wear resistance. It features a 1-inch cutting diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a helical flute design with 2 flutes and 2 margins. Through-coolant delivery is built in, directing cutting fluid directly to the tip for improved chip evacuation and tool life. This tool is typically installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production or job-shop environments.
This replaceable tip drill is suited for drilling operations in stainless steel and other difficult-to-machine materials classified under ISO material group M. The HPL insert geometry and clamp-style insert holding method make it well-adapted for inclined entry and exit conditions, stacked-plate drilling, and other challenging workpiece setups. The ZD insert seat size matches the corresponding KTFST series drill body. The through-coolant feature is especially valuable when maintaining dimensional accuracy in deep or interrupted cuts in stainless and similar alloys.
Designed for use with KTFST series drill bodies accepting a ZD insert seat. The KTFST10000HPL tip is the corresponding replaceable carbide insert for this assembly. Primary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO material group M).
Installation and tip changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and locked out. Use the correct clamp torque tool and follow the drill body manufacturer guidelines for insert seating and clamp engagement. Ensure through-coolant passages are clear before operation. Inspect the insert seat for damage or contamination before mounting a new tip.
