The KENNAMETAL 6371000 is a replaceable drill tip in the KTFST series, designed for use with compatible modular drill bodies in precision drilling applications. It features a 0.3281 inch (21/64 inch) cutting diameter with a 140-degree point angle and a helical flute geometry. The tip is manufactured from fine grain solid carbide and carries an AlTiN coating applied via PVD process, providing thermal resistance and edge durability when cutting stainless steel and other demanding workpiece materials. Insert seat size is F, and the tip is clamp-held. Coolant-through capability is built in, supporting chip evacuation and tool life in deep-hole and interrupted-cut scenarios. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers.
This drill tip is suited for drilling operations in stainless steel (ISO material code M) and is capable of handling inclined exits, stacked plate drilling, and standard through-hole applications. The two-flute, two-margin geometry with regular spiral and coolant-through channels makes it appropriate for CNC machining centers and similar equipment where modular drill systems are in use. The KTFST series platform is intended for applications requiring repeatable tip replacement without full tool replacement, reducing downtime in production environments.
Designed for use with KTFST series modular drill bodies accepting insert seat size F. ISO number KTFST03281HPL identifies the tip geometry for matching to compatible holders. No additional specific model compatibility data was provided in the product input.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before seating or removing the drill tip. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp screw specified by the drill body manufacturer - do not overtighten, as this can damage the carbide seat. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and unobstructed before initiating cutting operations.
