The KENNAMETAL 6370957 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with KTFST-series indexable drill bodies. It features a 0.7813-inch cutting diameter, a 140-degree point angle, and an HPL insert geometry. The tip is manufactured from fine-grain solid carbide and carries the KCMS15 grade designation, which is suited for cutting stainless steel and other demanding workpiece materials. A PVD-applied AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends cutting life in high-temperature machining environments. Internal coolant-through channels direct coolant directly to the cutting edge. Machining professionals and CNC operators install this tip as a drop-in replacement within KTFST-compatible tool bodies.
This drill tip is intended for drilling operations in stainless steel (ISO material code M) and is engineered for demanding applications including inclined-exit drilling and stacked-plate drilling. The helical flute design with a regular spiral and 2-flute, 2-margin configuration promotes chip evacuation and maintains hole quality in difficult setups. Insert seat size is X, and the tip is held in place by a clamp-style holding method. It fits standard KTFST-series drill bodies used in CNC machining centers and production drilling operations.
Designed for use with KTFST-series indexable drill bodies accepting insert seat size X and the KTFST07813HPL tip configuration. Verify body seat size and series designation before installation.
This tip is installed by machining professionals and CNC setup technicians. Before replacing the tip, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. Clean the insert seat thoroughly before seating the new tip, as contamination or debris can affect runout and tool life. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the tool body manufacturer; do not overtighten or substitute fasteners.
