The KENNAMETAL 6350471 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for demanding metal-cutting applications. It features a 9.80 mm diameter, a 140-degree split-point geometry, and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating that extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The right-hand spiral flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Coolant-through capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, which is critical when drilling deep into hard or heat-resistant materials. This drill is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with precision metalworking equipment.
This drill is designed for cutting stainless steel and high-temperature alloys — materials that generate significant heat and work-harden rapidly under incorrect tooling. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 49.00 mm maximum drilling depth make it well suited for through-hole and blind-hole operations in production machining, maintenance shops, and job shops where tool consistency and hole quality are critical. The 10 mm straight shank accepts standard ER or straight-bore toolholders commonly found on CNC machining centers and drill presses.
Designed for use in stainless steel and high-temperature alloy machining applications. The 10 mm straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks, ER collet systems, and straight-bore toolholders on CNC machining centers, knee mills, and drill presses capable of holding 10 mm shank tooling. Material grade KCMS15 is specified for these work materials.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the shank fully in a balanced, runout-minimized toolholder — carbide is brittle and sensitive to side-load and vibration that would not damage high-speed steel tooling. Always verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the work material and drill diameter before cutting. Engage coolant-through supply prior to contact with the workpiece when drilling stainless steel or high-temp alloys to prevent work hardening at the drill tip.
