The KENNAMETAL 6350454 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for precision hole-making in demanding materials. It features a 140-degree split-point geometry and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating that extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments. At 9.20 mm (0.3622 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 4.0551 inches, this drill operates with a right-hand cutting direction and a regular spiral flute profile. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management during deep-hole operations. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals select this drill for production runs where material hardness and heat generation would rapidly degrade standard HSS tooling.
This drill is engineered for stainless steel and high-temperature alloy applications, including nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar work-hardening materials commonly found in aerospace, medical device, and precision-machined component manufacturing. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 1.9291 inches (49.00 mm) suit it for moderately deep holes without pecking cycles in many setups. The straight cylindrical shank accommodates standard drill chucks and collet holders without special adapters.
Designed as an OEM-grade solid carbide jobber drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills equipped with standard drill chucks or collet systems accepting a 10 mm straight shank. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel and high-temperature alloys per supplier specification.
Installation and use of this drill should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the straight shank fully in a balanced collet or drill chuck before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable limits for the application, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. Enable coolant-through supply when available to maximize tool life and chip clearance. Do not use this drill as a reamer or apply side loads that exceed the tool design parameters.
