The KENNAMETAL 6201280 is a solid carbide milling insert in the LNGU series, grade KCPM40, designed for high-performance metal cutting in CNC milling operations. It carries a dual PVD coating of TiAlN and AlCrN, which improves heat resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The insert measures 31/64 inches in length, 3/16 inches thick, and features a rectangular shape with a right-hand orientation. With four cutting edges and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, this insert is suited for licensed machinists and toolroom technicians running production or job-shop milling programs.
This insert is engineered for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries ANSI code LNGU431SRGE and ISO code LNGU110404SRGE, and is compatible with the Kennametal Mill 4-11 cutter series. The positive rake geometry and GE chip breaker promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces, making it a practical choice for both roughing and semi-finishing passes on difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order of 10 units.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer to secure the insert screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for wear or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout.
