The KENNAMETAL 6194532 is a solid carbide round milling insert in the RPHT series, catalog number RPHT1204M0E442X4, designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding milling applications. This single-sided insert features a dual PVD coating of TiAlN and TiN applied over a solid carbide substrate, providing heat resistance and wear life at elevated cutting speeds. The round insert geometry (RPHT style) delivers a 360-degree included angle, four cutting edges, and a positive rake configuration with an 11-degree relief angle. Machining centers and CNC milling operations in production shops are the primary environments for this insert. Grade KCSM40 is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium.
This insert is suited for milling operations on steel (P-class), stainless steel (M-class), superalloys, and titanium (S-class) workpieces in both roughing and finishing passes where a round insert geometry is specified. The 442X4 chip breaker geometry controls chip formation across these material groups. The neutral hand configuration and screw-holding method make it compatible with standard RPHT-style milling cutter bodies. Verified cutter series compatibility includes the 7713VR12. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace, and energy-sector machining environments are the typical end users.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard stocking insert for RPHT-series milling cutter bodies, including verified compatibility with the 7713VR12 cutter series. ANSI and ISO standards are met under code RPHT1204M0E442X4.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing inserts. Seat the insert firmly against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the pocket for chips or debris prior to seating each new insert to prevent seating errors and premature edge failure.
