The KENNAMETAL 6165759 is a solid carbide milling insert identified by ISO code HNPJ0604ANSNGD and manufactured to grade KCSM40. The insert features a hexagon shape with 12 cutting edges, making it a high-utilization double-sided insert suited for productive face and shoulder milling operations. A TiAlN and TiN multilayer coating applied via PVD process provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting temperatures. The insert has a neutral hand orientation, a negative rake geometry, and chamfered and honed cutting edges for controlled chip formation. Thickness measures 0.1750 inches with an inscribed circle diameter of 0.4724 inches and a 1.00 mm (0.0394 inches) corner radius. Installation is performed by qualified CNC tooling technicians or machinists. Disengage machine power and ensure the spindle is fully stopped before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer to seat the clamping screw — do not overtighten or substitute fasteners. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating each new insert to ensure proper seating and runout.
