The KENNAMETAL 6143977 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in ferrous machining applications. With a 0.75 inch mill diameter, a 1.5 inch length of cut, and a 4.0 inch overall length, this single-end tool delivers consistent geometry in demanding production environments. The three-flute spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle balances chip evacuation and cutting stability. A TiAlN coating from the KC633M material grade provides heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production machining settings.
This end mill is suited for slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling in ferrous materials including steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC milling machine spindles. The 0.75 inch shank diameter matches common collet chucks and end mill holders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant applied externally is the standard approach for heat management during use.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with 0.75 inch collet chucks or end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron per KENNAMETAL material codes P, M, and K. Part of the KENNAMETAL 3SE series.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the 0.75 inch shank in a properly sized collet chuck or end mill holder torqued to the machine tool manufacturer's specification. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lock-out state before changing tooling. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material, as solid carbide tools are rigid but brittle under shock loads.
