The KENNAMETAL 6143952 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications. Built to the KC633M material grade and finished with a TiAlN coating, this single-end tool delivers heat and wear resistance suited to demanding cutting environments. The 0.25-inch diameter mill features 3 spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle, providing efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting performance. It is center-cutting, allowing direct plunging into workpieces. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals in job shops and production facilities rely on this geometry for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where ferrous materials are the primary workpiece. Its 0.75-inch length of cut is well suited to shallow-to-medium depth passes in steel and stainless steel, and the TiAlN finish extends tool life in elevated-temperature cutting conditions. The 0.25-inch shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders sized for fractional inch tooling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry is standard for conventional spindle rotation.
Designed for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. Fits standard 0.25-inch collet chucks and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, and K confirm suitability for those material families.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine control in an e-stop or lockout state per applicable machine guarding and OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting. Do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
