The KENNAMETAL 6132023 is a solid carbide milling insert in the KCPM40 manufacturer grade, designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. It features a dual-layer PVD coating of TiAlN and AlCrN that promotes heat resistance and extended tool life at the cutting edge. The insert carries an ANSI code of LNGU432SRGE and ISO code LNGU110408SRGE, belonging to the LNGU series with a rectangular shape and a positive rake geometry. With four cutting edges per insert and a chamfered and honed edge style, it is suited for productive milling passes across a range of workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC tooling specialists install this insert into compatible milling cutter bodies as part of a standard indexable tooling setup.
This insert is intended for milling applications involving steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, and S. It is a right-hand insert with a GE chip breaker geometry, which helps manage chip flow and reduce cutting forces during face and shoulder milling operations. The insert is held in the cutter body by a screw-type clamping method. It is compatible with the Mill 4-11 cutter series from KENNAMETAL, making it a direct-fit choice for shops already running that platform. Typical applications include roughing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and exotic alloy components in aerospace, energy, and general machining environments.
Designed for use with the KENNAMETAL Mill 4-11 cutter series. ANSI code LNGU432SRGE and ISO code LNGU110408SRGE identify the exact insert geometry for correct pocket matching. Verify cutter body pocket specifications before installation.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Clean the pocket seat and clamping screw threads before seating the insert to ensure proper torque transfer and runout accuracy. Do not mix inserts of different grades or edge conditions within the same cutter body, as this can cause uneven cutting loads and premature failure.
