The KENNAMETAL 6114056 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance finishing in demanding machining applications. Built to the UJDE series specification, it features a 1-1/4 inch mill diameter, a 0.06 inch corner radius, and six flutes with a right-hand spiral and close pitch for smooth chip evacuation in deep-reach operations. The tool carries an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating applied to a submicron carbide substrate, providing thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and exotic alloys. Overall length is 9 inches with a 6 inch length of cut, placing it in the extra long category. The Safe-Lock shank design prevents pullout under high-torque milling conditions. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, aerospace, and precision manufacturing environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is designed for finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The extra long reach and 6 inch length of cut make it suitable for deep-pocket and tall-wall milling where standard-length tools cannot reach. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, adding versatility in contouring and pocket operations. It is rated for primary workpiece material codes P, M, S, and H, covering a broad range of ferrous and high-temperature alloy applications typical in aerospace, die and mold, and heavy-equipment machining environments.
Designed for use with HC-HSK Form A, HC-CV Form AD, Hydraulic Chuck Standard Line Inch KM63XMZ, and HPMC High Performance Milling Chucks-CV Form B/AD toolholding systems as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out. Safe-Lock shanks require a matching Safe-Lock toolholder for proper engagement — do not seat in a standard smooth-bore collet or chuck. Verify runout at the tool tip after clamping, as extra long tools are sensitive to holder concentricity. Follow the machine tool builder and shop safety guidelines for high-speed milling of superalloys and hard materials.
