The KENNAMETAL 6113085 is a solid carbide ball end mill from the HARVI III UJBE series, designed for demanding milling operations in steel, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. It carries a 1/2-inch mill diameter with a 1-inch length of cut and features six flutes with variable index spacing to reduce chatter at aggressive feed rates. The AlTiN PVD coating improves heat resistance and tool life when cutting abrasive or high-strength workpiece materials. With a straight-cylindrical 1/2-inch shank and 3-inch overall length, this end mill suits vertical machining centers and CNC mills running roughing and finishing passes in a single tool.
This end mill is applied in aerospace, die-and-mold, and precision component machining where stainless steel, nickel-based superalloys, titanium alloys, and hardened steels are the primary materials. The ball nose geometry enables profiling, contouring, and 3D surface work. The 38-degree medium helix angle balances chip evacuation with cutting stability. Single-end construction and a right-hand cutting and flute direction match standard CNC toolholder setups. The HARVI III series is positioned for shops running high-efficiency milling strategies that require consistent performance across multiple material families without frequent tool changes.
Designed for use in CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 1/2-inch shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel (P), stainless steel (M), high-temperature alloys (S), and hardened materials (H) per ISO material classification. Part of the KENNAMETAL HARVI III UJBE series; catalog reference UJBE0500J6BB.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into a clean, properly sized collet or toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification before running the spindle. Inspect runout with a dial indicator after setup; excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and reduce surface quality. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut against KENNAMETAL HARVI III application data before beginning a cut.
