The KENNAMETAL 6086411 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and hard materials. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/8 inch length of cut, and a 3 inch overall length with a matching 3/8 inch shank diameter. The 2-flute geometry with a 30-degree spiral helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in demanding applications. This is a single-end, centercutting tool with right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation, suited for slot milling, profiling, and plunge entry. Material grade KC633M delivers hardness and wear resistance for production environments.
This end mill is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, covering primary workpiece material codes P, M, and K. It fits standard milling operations in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC setups where a fractional inch 3/8 inch shank collet or end mill holder is used. The compact 1-1/8 inch length of cut and 3 inch OAL make it well suited for general-purpose profiling and slotting where extended reach is not required. No coolant-through capability; external coolant or mist lubrication is the standard approach for this configuration.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with rotary cutting tool setup. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 3/8 inch shank fully in the collet or holder and torque to the tool holder specification before engaging the spindle. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before cutting; reverse rotation will damage the flutes and the workpiece.
