The KENNAMETAL 6019506 is a solid carbide milling insert in the LNPU series, designed for high-performance metal removal on CNC milling operations. Manufactured to ANSI code LNPU544SRGE and ISO code LNPU15T616SRGE, this insert features a dual PVD coating of TiAlN and AlCrN for elevated heat resistance and extended tool life. The rectangular insert measures 17.00 mm in length, 10.00 mm in width, and 7.00 mm in thickness, with a 1/16 inch corner radius and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style. It carries four cutting edges and is designed for right-hand operation with a positive rake angle. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production environments are the primary installers.
This insert is engineered for machining steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, aligning with primary workpiece material codes P, M, and S. It is compatible with the Mill 4-15 cutter series and uses screw holding for secure, repeatable seating. The GE chip breaker geometry supports consistent chip evacuation during interrupted and continuous cuts in demanding materials. It suits both high-production shops and job shops running difficult-to-machine alloys where coating durability and edge stability are critical.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Disengage the machine and follow lockout/tagout procedures before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the holder manufacturer's specified procedure, ensuring the insert is fully seated against the pocket walls before tightening. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before each index to maintain dimensional accuracy and prevent premature insert failure.
