The KENNAMETAL 5876751 is a solid carbide ball end mill from the GOmill 2BN series, designed for high-performance milling in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. It features a 0.25-inch mill diameter, a 1.5-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length with a straight-cylindrical 0.25-inch shank. The TiAlN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in demanding ferrous applications. Eccentric relief geometry increases cutting edge stability, supports long tool life, and reduces reconditioning cost by easing regrinding. Center-cutting capability allows plunging and ramping operations without a pre-drilled entry point.
This end mill suits roughing and finishing operations in job shops, production machining environments, and maintenance shops working with ferrous materials. The long-length configuration makes it appropriate for deeper cavity work where standard-length tools cannot reach. Right-hand cut and right-hand helical flutes are standard for conventional CNC machining center setups. It is sold as a single-end tool, packaged individually, making it practical for direct replacement or tooling evaluations.
Designed for use in standard straight-bore tool holders accepting a 0.25-inch cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron per material codes P, M, and K. Part of the KENNAMETAL GOmill 2BN series; manufacturer catalog number 2BN0250IL150A.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians on CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the tool holder bore is clean and free of debris before seating the shank, and verify runout with a dial indicator before production cuts. Observe machine manufacturer torque specifications for the tool holder style in use. Do not exceed the rated length of cut when side milling, as overhang beyond the flute length increases deflection and risk of tool breakage.
