The KENNAMETAL 5824513 is a solid carbide ball end mill from the GOmill 4BN series, designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. It features a 3/16-inch diameter, a 5/16-inch length of cut, and a four-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree medium helix angle. The cutting edges are finished with a multilayer TiAlN/TiN/TiAlN PVD coating that extends tool life and maintains surface quality under high cutting loads. Eccentric relief geometry stabilizes the cutting edge and reduces reconditioning costs by easing regrinding. Center-cutting capability allows plunging and ramping operations without a pilot hole. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tool-room technicians.
The 5824513 is suited for roughing and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. Its standard-length, straight-cylindrical shank fits conventional collet chucks and shrink-fit holders with a 3/16-inch bore. The single-end, right-hand cutting configuration is compatible with standard right-hand spindle setups on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The 0.0938-inch nose radius produces accurate ball-end profiles for contoured surfaces, die cavities, and blended transitions.
The 5824513 is part of the KENNAMETAL GOmill 4BN series and is designed for use on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. It fits any standard 3/16-inch collet, shrink-fit, or hydraulic toolholder with right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool-change interlock is engaged before loading or unloading the end mill. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge-line depth and torque the collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and degrades surface finish.
