The KENNAMETAL 5654267 is a solid carbide milling insert in the XPLT series, designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. This square-shaped insert carries a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, which provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting temperatures. The insert measures 0.276 inches in inscribed circle diameter and 0.125 inches thick, with a 1/32-inch corner radius and an 11-degree relief angle. It features a positive rake geometry and a honed cutting edge style. Installation is by screw-clamp method. This insert is suited for use by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, making it a versatile option for aerospace, energy, and precision-machining applications. It is a single-sided, right-hand insert with four cutting edges and is compatible with the Kennametal 7792VXP06 cutter series. The 41 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation across the listed material groups. ANSI and ISO codes are XPLT060308ERD41.
Designed for use with the Kennametal 7792VXP06 cutter series. Insert size code is 060308. ANSI and ISO designation XPLT060308ERD41 applies for cross-referencing to compatible toolholders and cutter bodies meeting that standard.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and locked out per established LOTO procedures. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key driver to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified method — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide insert body. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Follow the cutter body manufacturer's setup sheet for correct insert orientation and torque sequence.
