The KENNAMETAL 5641099 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMG432MP geometry, coated with a multilayer TiCN and Al2O3 CVD coating under the manufacturer grade KCM15B. Part of the KENLOC series, this insert features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a negative rake angle and neutral hand orientation. It measures 1.2208 inches in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0313-inch corner radius, providing four usable cutting edges per insert. The MP chip breaker geometry is engineered for roughing and medium machining operations. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in compatible KENLOC toolholders for high-productivity material removal.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring applications on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. The KCM15B grade delivers moderate wear resistance combined with toughness for steel (ISO P) applications, and high to moderate wear resistance for stainless steel (ISO M) applications. It is suited for both roughing passes and medium machining cuts in production and job-shop environments where consistent tool life and edge integrity are critical. The chamfered and honed cutting edge style supports controlled entry into interrupted or continuous cuts.
Designed for use in KENLOC series toolholders accepting DNMG432 (ISO DNMG150408) negative-geometry inserts with clamp or pin holding. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards for this insert geometry, ensuring dimensional interchangeability with ANSI DNMG432 and ISO DNMG150408 toolholder seats.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and torque the clamp or pin fastener according to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker for damage before each use; do not run a chipped or fractured insert.
