The KENNAMETAL 5640964 is a solid carbide turning insert designated CCMT3252MP in the KCM15B grade, designed for external and internal turning, facing, and boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and a multilayer TiCN and Al2O3 coating applied via MTCVD and CVD processes. The KCM15B grade is engineered to balance moderate wear resistance with toughness, making it a reliable choice for interrupted and continuous cuts on steel and stainless steel.
