The KENNAMETAL 5629530 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI code CNMG433RN and ISO code CNMG120412RN, manufactured to KENNAMETAL grade KCPK05 in the KENLOC series. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a negative rake and neutral hand orientation. It carries a multilayer MTCVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3, delivering high wear-resistance on steel and moderate wear-resistance with toughness on aluminum and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, a 3/64-inch corner radius, and four usable cutting edges, this insert is suited to roughing and medium machining operations across turning, facing, and boring applications.
This insert is designed for use on CNC lathes and turning centers handling steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The KCPK05 grade targets material grades P05, P15, K25, and K35, making it a versatile choice for job shops and production environments running mixed workpiece materials. Its chamfered and honed cutting edge style, combined with the RN chip breaker geometry, supports stable chip control during roughing and medium-depth passes. The clamp and pin insert holding method suits standard CNMG-style toolholders.
Designed for use in CNMG-style toolholders accepting a 0.5-inch inscribed circle insert with clamp or pin holding. Compatible with KENNAMETAL KENLOC series tooling. Suitable for workpiece material grades P05, P15, K25, and K35 as defined by ISO material classification.
Installation is performed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians. Shut down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamp or locking pin to avoid insert rocking or premature edge failure. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating shim for wear or debris before installing a new insert.
