The KENNAMETAL 5626645 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the KSEM Plus series, designed for high-productivity hole-making in steel and stainless steel applications. The drill accepts the KSEM1350HPGM tip, which is manufactured from fine-grain solid carbide in grade KCPM45 and finished with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating for extended tool life under heat and abrasion. The 140-degree included angle provides a sturdy point geometry suited to interrupted entries and exit conditions. With a cutting diameter of 13.50mm (0.5315 inches) and a 2-flute helical configuration, this drill delivers efficient chip evacuation and consistent hole geometry in production environments.
This replaceable tip drill is intended for CNC machining operations in job shops, production facilities, and aerospace or industrial manufacturing environments. The KSEM Plus platform uses a clamp-style insert seat (seat size C) to secure the carbide tip, allowing fast tip changes without removing the body from the spindle. The drill supports through-coolant delivery, including minimum quantity lubrication (MQL), making it suitable for dry, wet, and near-dry cutting strategies. Rated applications include standard drilling, inclined exit drilling, and stacked-plate drilling operations.
Designed for use with the KSEM Plus replaceable tip drill body system, seat size C. The carbide tip ISO number is KSEM1350HPGM. Primary workpiece material ratings are steel (ISO code P) and stainless steel (ISO code M).
Installation and tip changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician following the machine tool manufacturer's lockout procedures before any spindle work. Use the correct torque wrench and clamp screw specified by KENNAMETAL for seat size C to avoid tip seating issues or body damage. Verify coolant channel alignment when through-coolant is used, and confirm the drill body is properly seated and indicated in the holder before resuming cutting operations. Do not exceed the cutting parameters published in the KSEM Plus application guide for the selected workpiece material.
