The KENNAMETAL 5607205 is a solid carbide ball end mill from the HARVI III UJBE series, designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 6-flute configuration with unequal flute spacing (variable index) to suppress chatter during aggressive cuts. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness, making this tool well-suited for sustained cutting in steel, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. The 38-degree medium helix promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining stability at elevated feed rates. The overall length is 3 inches with a 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This end mill is built for both roughing and finishing operations on CNC machining centers and high-speed milling equipment. Its primary workpiece material classifications cover ISO P (steel), M (stainless steel), S (high-temperature alloys), and H (hardened materials), making it a versatile single-tool option across a broad range of job shop and production environments. The center-cutting geometry allows direct plunging and ramping entries without a pre-drilled hole. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard. No coolant-through channels are present, so flood or mist coolant is applied externally.
Designed as an OEM HARVI III UJBE series solid carbide ball end mill; fits any CNC spindle or tool holder accepting a 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank with standard ER, hydraulic, shrink-fit, or Weldon-style retention. Manufacturer catalog reference: UJBE0500J6B.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully de-energized and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Use a calibrated tool-length setter to establish the correct gauge length offset in the CNC control before the first cut. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and KENNAMETAL recommended cutting data for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut — do not exceed rated parameters for the workpiece material class.
