The KENNAMETAL 5591976 is a DNMG432RP solid carbide turning insert in grade KCM25B, designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape with a negative rake angle and negative side clearance, giving it strong edge support for interrupted cuts and tough materials. The multilayer MTCVD coating stack — TiCN, Al2O3, and TiOCN — delivers the wear resistance and toughness needed for steel and stainless steel applications. The KCM25B grade is rated for high toughness on steel (P) and moderate wear-resistance with toughness on stainless steel (M). Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and toolroom technicians are the primary users.

This insert is suited for roughing and medium machining passes on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It fits KENLOC-style toolholders that accept DNMG-style inserts held by clamp or pin. Typical applications include turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring. Installation Notes

Inspect the insert pocket and locating pin for debris or wear before seating a new edge.
