The KENNAMETAL 5533150 is a carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured under the Beyond Evolution series, this insert features a 2.00 mm (0.0788 inch) cutting width, a neutral lead angle, and a TiOCN coating applied via CVD process. The KCU25 grade delivers a balance of toughness and wear resistance suited to a broad range of workpiece materials. The CF chipbreaker geometry promotes chip control during cut-off operations. This insert is intended for use by machinists and toolroom technicians working in production turning environments.
This insert is suited for cut-off applications in turning operations where consistent parting width and chip evacuation are critical. The left-hand insert hand and neutral lead angle make it compatible with specific Beyond Evolution toolholders configured for that orientation. The single-end design means the insert is replaced once the cutting edge is worn. Typical applications include production machining of bar stock, tube, and round workpieces in both light and medium-duty cuts.
Designed for use with Beyond Evolution series toolholders accepting EC-U style inserts at insert seat size 2. Confirm toolholder hand and seat size before installation.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and clamping screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert properly. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or damage before seating a new insert.
