The KENNAMETAL 5516077 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the KCPK30 manufacturer grade, designed for high-productivity face and shoulder milling operations. It features a multilayer CVD coating system of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied over a solid carbide substrate, providing wear resistance and thermal stability across demanding cut conditions. The insert follows the LNGU541SRGE ANSI code and LNGU15T604SRGE ISO code, with a rectangular shape, 90-degree included angle, and a positive rake geometry. A GE chip breaker and chamfered, honed cutting edges contribute to controlled chip evacuation and edge integrity. Licensed machinists and CNC toolroom technicians are the primary installers for this type of indexable insert.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, covering material application codes P, M, K, and S. It is a right-hand insert intended for use in the Kennametal Mill 4-15 cutter series. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose metal removal in both production and job-shop environments, on CNC machining centers handling a wide range of ferrous and exotic workpiece materials. The insert is held in place by screw clamping and is a single-sided design providing four usable cutting edges per insert.
Designed for use in the Kennametal Mill 4-15 cutter series. Insert is screw-clamped and fits toolholders specified for the LNGU series with insert size code 541.
Indexable milling inserts are installed and indexed by qualified machinists or CNC tool-room technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing or indexing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert edge to ensure proper support and prevent premature edge failure.
