The KENNAMETAL 5516075 is a solid carbide milling insert in the LNGU series, designed for high-performance metal removal in milling applications. It carries a KC725M manufacturer grade and features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, providing heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting environments. The insert has a rectangular shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry, and chamfered and honed cutting edges for clean, controlled chip formation. With 4 cutting edges and a right-hand orientation, this insert is suited for production milling operations across a range of metallic workpiece materials.
This insert is intended for use in milling applications targeting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces, corresponding to ISO material application codes P, M, and S. It is compatible with the Mill 4-15 cutter series and is appropriate for both production shop environments and job shop milling setups where insert consistency and edge repeatability are required. Licensed machinists and CNC mill operators are the primary users of this insert. The ANSI code is LNGU541SRGE and the ISO code is LNGU15T604SRGE, which can be used for cross-referencing within compatible tooling systems.
Compatible with the Mill 4-15 cutter series. ANSI designation LNGU541SRGE and ISO designation LNGU15T604SRGE can be used to verify fitment with compatible milling bodies and toolholders accepting LNGU-style inserts.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and locked out before insert indexing or replacement. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key driver as specified by the cutter body manufacturer to secure the insert screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Do not exceed the cutter body's rated speed or feed parameters when running this insert grade.
