The KENNAMETAL 5330132 is a Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride (PCBN) turning insert designed for high-hardness machining applications. Manufactured to ANSI insert code CCGW2151 and ISO insert code CCGW060204, this screw-on insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a positive rake angle and positive side clearance. The multilayer PVD coating — TiN and AlTiN — extends tool life when cutting hardened ferrous materials. With a 1/4-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius, it delivers tight-tolerance finishing passes in demanding turning, facing, and boring operations. Kennametal grade KBH20 positions this insert in material grades H15 and H25, targeting hard material workpieces.
This insert is suited for CNC turning centers and boring applications where the workpiece material is hardened steel or similarly hard ferrous stock. The flat-top chip breaker geometry and chamfered, honed cutting edge work together to manage chip flow and reduce edge wear at elevated surface speeds typical of hard turning. Two cutting edges are available per insert. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in precision component manufacturing, aerospace, and automotive hardpart turning will find this insert applicable to finishing and light-roughing passes on hardened material classifications H15 and H25.
Designed as a screw-on CCGW-style PCBN turning insert conforming to ANSI standard CCGW2151 and ISO standard CCGW060204; intended for toolholders accepting screw-on CCGW inserts with a 0.110-inch hole diameter. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and clamping screw size before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked before indexing or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torque screwdriver for the insert clamping screw — do not overtighten, as PCBN inserts are brittle and can fracture under excessive clamping force. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the insert. Follow the machine tool manufacturer's guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when handling sharp-edged cutting inserts.
