The KENNAMETAL 5327912 is a solid carbide profiling and turning insert in the VPGR331 style, grade K313, designed for precise material removal on non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It features a parallelogram shape with a 35-degree included angle, a positive rake angle of 15 degrees, and an 8-degree relief angle. The inscribed circle measures 0.375 inches (9.52 mm), insert length is 0.654 inches (16.61 mm), and the corner radius is 0.0156 inches (0.40 mm). The uncoated WC-Co substrate and fine-grain carbide construction make this insert well suited for high-precision finishing and profiling passes where a sharp, consistent edge is critical. This is a single-piece package unit with a minimum order quantity of 5.
This insert is intended for CNC turning and profiling applications involving non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper alloys, as well as superalloys and titanium. It is clamp-held with a neutral hand orientation, allowing flexible positioning in standard and high-positive toolholders. The insert carries ISO designation VCGR160404HP and conforms to VPGR331HP standards, making it compatible with toolholders specified to those geometries. Typical use cases include contour turning, form profiling, and finishing operations on precision components where tight tolerances and surface finish are the priority.
Conforms to insert standards VPGR331HP and ISO VCGR160404HP. Designed for use in clamp-style toolholders accepting VPGR-style parallelogram inserts with a 0.375-inch inscribed circle. Intended for profiling and turning of non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium workpieces.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the toolholder removed or secured before seating or indexing the insert. Clamp torque should follow the toolholder manufacturer specification for the applicable clamp screw size. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for wear or debris before seating to ensure proper contact and runout control.
