The KENNAMETAL 5120466 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal and finishing operations. It features a 1-inch mill diameter, a 0.03-inch corner radius, and 6 right-hand spiral flutes with a close pitch and high helix angle of 38 degrees. The cutting surface carries a PVD-applied AlTiN coating that enhances heat resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting environments. At 4 inches overall length with a 1.5-inch length of cut, it is configured as a short-length, single-end tool suited to rigid setups where tool deflection must be minimized.
This end mill is engineered for finishing applications in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials, specifically steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and hard materials. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1 inch in diameter and is compatible with hydraulic sleeve toolholders as specified below. Machinists and CNC programmers in production shops, aerospace, and energy sector environments will find this tool suited to tight-tolerance finishing passes where surface finish and edge integrity are critical.
Compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1-1/4 Hydraulic Sleeves Inch with Inch Bores, HC 20M through HC 32M Hydraulic Sleeves Metric with Inch Bores, HC-HSK Form A, and HC-CV Form AD toolholding systems. Part of the KENNAMETAL UJDE series. Primary workpiece material codes: P (Steel), M (Stainless Steel), S (Superalloys and Titanium), H (Hard Material).
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an energy-isolated state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm hydraulic sleeve clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specification before beginning a cut. Inspect the tool shank and collet bore for contamination or damage before seating; do not use damaged toolholders with solid carbide tooling. Verify spindle speed, feed rate, and depth-of-cut parameters against KENNAMETAL published cutting data for the UJDE series before production use.
