The KENNAMETAL 5060124 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It carries a 1 inch mill diameter, a 5 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces edge chipping while maintaining part accuracy. The 7.5 inch overall length with extended reach makes it well suited for deep-pocket and long-reach milling operations. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and oxidation protection at elevated cutting temperatures. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, die-mold, and heavy manufacturing environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill fits production and job-shop milling operations requiring both roughing and finishing capability in a single tool. The 5-flute, right-hand spiral geometry delivers a combination of material removal rate and surface finish quality. The 1 inch straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with HC-HSK Form A, HC-CV Form AD, and ER single-angle standard collet toolholders. The submicron carbide grade and high-helix design are particularly effective on difficult-to-machine superalloys and titanium where heat generation and work hardening are primary concerns.
Designed for use with HC-HSK Form A, HC-CV Form AD, and ER single-angle standard collet toolholding systems. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm proper tool seating and minimize vibration. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications for the specific collet or chuck system in use.
