The KENNAMETAL 5059746 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Built on the UGDE series platform, it features a 0.75 inch mill diameter, a 0.12 inch corner radius, and five flutes configured in a right-hand spiral with a 43-degree high helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection during aggressive cuts. At 5 inches overall length with a 2.25 inch length of cut and extended reach geometry, this tool handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup. It is intended for use by professional machinists and tooling specialists in CNC machining environments.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers working with ferrous and exotic alloy workpieces. The extended reach length of 2.25 inches makes it appropriate for deep cavity, shoulder, and profile milling operations where standard-reach tools cannot access the feature. It is compatible with HC-HSK Form A toolholders, Hydraulic Chuck Standard Line Inch KM63XMZ, and HC-CV Form AD interfaces. The straight-cylindrical shank accommodates standard collet chucks and shrink-fit holders with a 0.75 inch bore. It is not center-cutting and is not equipped with coolant-through passages, so flood or mist coolant delivery should be directed externally at the cut zone.
Compatible with HC-HSK Form A, Hydraulic Chuck Standard Line Inch KM63XMZ, and HC-CV Form AD toolholding systems. Designed for CNC machining applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per material codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle at a full stop and machine in a locked-out state per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm the toolholder bore and collet size match the 0.75 inch straight-cylindrical shank before seating the tool. Do not exceed the recommended gauge length for the holder type, as extended reach tools are more sensitive to overhang-induced vibration. Verify runout at setup with a dial indicator before initiating a cutting program.
