The KENNAMETAL 5059672 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill built for high-demand metal removal in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and five flutes with a high-helix spiral geometry at 43 degrees. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection under elevated cutting temperatures. At 4 inches overall length with a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, this single-end tool is designed for both roughing and finishing passes in the same setup. Submicron carbide grade and extended reach geometry make it suitable for deep-pocket and contour milling applications where tool rigidity and edge life are critical.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The UGDE series designation indicates an extended-reach profile, making it applicable in die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and general precision milling where a standard-length tool cannot reach the feature. Right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional and climb milling strategies.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per material codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before mounting or removing the tool. Secure the shank in a compatible end mill holder to the toolholder manufacturer's specified runout and clamping requirements. This end mill is not center-cutting and should not be used for plunge entry directly into solid material.
