The KENNAMETAL 5051946 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 5/16 inch cutting diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 3-1/4 inch overall length. The three-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. The bright/uncoated finish and submicron carbide grade make this tool well suited for aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. It is a single-end, center-cutting design capable of plunge entry.
This end mill belongs to the KENNAMETAL AADE series, a long-length line engineered for applications requiring extended reach into deep pockets, slots, and contoured features. The coarse pitch and high helix configuration support roughing operations in non-ferrous metals on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The straight cylindrical shank measures 5/16 inch in diameter, compatible with a range of standard toolholding systems. Licensed machinists, tooling engineers, and CNC programmers will find this tool appropriate for production and job-shop environments where tight tolerances on corner geometry are required.
Compatible with HC 20M through HC 32M Hydraulic Sleeves Metric with Inch Bores, HC 1/2 through HC 1-1/4 Hydraulic Sleeves Inch with Inch Bores, ER Single Angle Standard Collets, and TT-SS toolholding systems. The 5/16 inch straight cylindrical shank fits any holder accepting that bore size.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the end mill. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excess runout accelerates corner wear and degrades radius accuracy. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque specifications for set screws or hydraulic chuck clamping procedures.
