The KENNAMETAL 4151808 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and metalworking applications. The bit measures 7/64 inches (0.1094 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree point angle optimized for fast penetration and reduced thrust in hard and abrasive materials. A multilayer TiAlN coating extends tool life by resisting heat buildup at elevated cutting speeds. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.375 inches in diameter and 1.1024 inches in length, making it compatible with standard drill chucks. Overall length is 2.2835 inches. This drill is suited for use by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals working with precision hole requirements.
This bit is rated for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 2-flute right-hand spiral design with regular flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole applications. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 0.6693 inches (17.00 mm), it is well-suited for short-series precision drilling in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and handheld drilling equipment used in production and maintenance environments. The tapered web configuration adds strength at the tip while maintaining cutting efficiency.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber drill for use in standard drill chucks accepting a 0.375-inch straight cylindrical shank. Rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials per supplier specification.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a standard drill chuck or collet rated for the 0.375-inch shank diameter. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the machine spindle is properly aligned before beginning the drilling operation. Power down and de-energize the machine before inserting or removing the bit. Carbide tooling is brittle - avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed rate adjustments, and dropping the bit on hard surfaces.
