The KENNAMETAL 4151800 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge 41 (0.0960 inches) and engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. The bit features a 140-degree split-point geometry that self-centers on contact and reduces thrust load, paired with a multilayer TiAlN coating for extended tool life under heat. Overall length is 2.2835 inches (58.00 mm), with a flute length of 0.8661 inches (22.00 mm) and a straight cylindrical shank diameter of 0.0781 inches. Right-hand spiral flutes with a regular helix evacuate chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole operations. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production drilling specialists are the primary users.
This drill is suited for precision small-diameter hole applications across a range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration support consistent performance in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines where repeatable hole quality is required. Solid carbide tooling is brittle - avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed reduction, and dropping or impact against hard surfaces. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before use to prevent premature tool breakage at this small diameter.
