The KENNAMETAL 4151759 is a solid carbide taper length drill bit in the B053A-CPG series, designed for precise, high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 6537K standards, it features a 140-degree standard point angle and a multilayer TiAlN coating from material grade KC7325 that provides heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. At 0.1130 inches (wire size 33) in diameter, with a straight cylindrical shank of 0.1575 inches diameter, it is suited for tight-tolerance hole applications. Licensed HVAC, metalworking, and machining professionals working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials will recognize this as a high-duty production-grade tool.
This bit is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production drilling fixtures where repeatable, accurate hole geometry is required. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through design support deep-hole drilling with effective chip evacuation and thermal management. A tapered web configuration adds rigidity at the cutting edge, reducing deflection in close-tolerance work. It is well suited for aerospace, automotive, and precision manufacturing applications where tight diameter tolerances and consistent hole finish are critical.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide taper length drill bit in the B053A-CPG series, compatible with standard straight-shank tool holders and collet chucks accepting a 0.1575 inch (4 mm) shank diameter.
This drill bit should be installed and operated by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide cutting tools. Ensure the tool holder and collet are clean and properly torqued before use, and confirm the machine spindle is fully stopped before inserting or removing the bit. Coolant-through capability requires a compatible coolant delivery system to be engaged for deep-hole drilling to prevent thermal damage and chip packing. Carbide is brittle and susceptible to breakage from side loading or interrupted cuts if feeds and speeds are not properly set for the workpiece material.
