The KENNAMETAL 4151661 is a screw machine length (stub) solid carbide drill bit designed for high-speed precision drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Sized at wire gauge 32 (0.1160 inches decimal equivalent), it features a 140-degree standard point angle for self-centering entry and reduced thrust. The multilayer TiAlN coating at the tip extends tool life in abrasive and hard materials. With an overall length of 2.2835 inches (58.00 mm) and a flute length of 0.6693 inches (17.00 mm), this stub-length bit delivers maximum rigidity and minimized deflection in close-tolerance work. It is manufactured to DIN 6537K specification.
This drill bit is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines operating in production environments. The stub length format is preferred when drilling short-depth holes requiring tight dimensional control, particularly in ferrous metals, hardened steels, cast iron, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. The straight cylindrical shank at 0.1575 inches (4.00 mm) diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and collets. Maximum drilling depth is 0.4724 inches (12.00 mm). Typical users include machinists and CNC operators in general manufacturing and job shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production drill bit for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines equipped with drill chucks or collets accepting a 0.1575-inch straight cylindrical shank. Belongs to KENNAMETAL Series B041A-CPG.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with cutting tool setup and safe machine operation. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the drill bit from the chuck or collet. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable tolerances prior to drilling, as excessive runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 0.4724 inches without retracting to clear chips.
