The KENNAMETAL 4151652 is a screw machine length (stub) solid carbide drill bit designed for precise, short-reach drilling applications in metal fabrication, machining, and production environments. Built to DIN 6537K standards, this 2.60 mm diameter bit features a 140-degree point angle for reduced thrust and improved centering on entry. The multilayer TiAlN coating on the tip extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. With an overall length of 58.00 mm and a flute length of 17.00 mm, the compact stub geometry provides maximum rigidity and reduced deflection in CNC and manual drill press setups. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in close-tolerance production environments.
This drill bit is suited for short-depth drilling operations where rigidity matters more than reach. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration support chip evacuation in steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous workpiece materials. The straight cylindrical shank, measuring 4.00 mm in diameter and 28.00 mm in length, seats securely in standard collets and drill chucks without modification. Maximum drilling depth is 12.00 mm, making this bit appropriate for shallow, precision holes in production runs, fixture work, and component manufacturing. The right-hand cutting direction and regular spiral flute geometry are compatible with standard spindle rotation on most machine tools.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production cutting tool in the KENNAMETAL Series B041A-CPG. Fits standard straight-shank collets and drill chucks accepting a 4.00 mm shank diameter. Suitable for use on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools with right-hand spindle rotation.
This bit is installed by machinists and CNC operators. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or chuck and verify runout before beginning a production run. Solid carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used in applications with significant lateral loading or interrupted cuts beyond the tool's rated capability.
