The KENNAMETAL 4151624 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision small-diameter drilling in demanding industrial applications. Built to DIN 6537K specification, it features a TiAlN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting environments. The drill measures 1.02 mm (0.0400 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree point angle optimized for fast, accurate penetration and reduced thrust force. At 58.00 mm overall length with a 4.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank, this bit is sized for use in precision machining centers, CNC drilling fixtures, and manual drill presses equipped with appropriate collets or chucks. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians are the primary users.
This micro drill bit is suited for precision drilling in metals, composites, and similar hard materials where tight tolerances and fine hole diameters are required. The Series B041A-CPG design is intended for production environments where consistent hole quality at sub-millimeter diameters is critical. It is a right-hand cutting tool, compatible with standard right-hand spindle machines. Maximum recommended drilling depth is 5.00 mm, making it well matched to shallow, precise through-holes or blind-hole applications in thin stock or multilayer assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style precision micro drill bit for use with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision drilling fixtures accepting a 4.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank and operating with right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a properly sized collet or chuck before beginning any setup. Micro carbide drills are brittle at small diameters — avoid side loading, re-chucking at angle, or exceeding the rated maximum drilling depth of 5.00 mm. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable tolerance prior to use, as excessive runout accelerates tool breakage at sub-millimeter diameters.
