The KENNAMETAL 4151114 is a screw machine length (stub) drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN (TiN tip), it delivers superior hardness and heat resistance compared to HSS tooling. The bit features a 140-degree split-point geometry that reduces walking and minimizes the need for a center punch. At a wire gauge size 26 (0.1470 inches), it produces precise, repeatable holes. With a 2-flute regular spiral design and coolant-through capability, this drill maintains chip evacuation and cutting-edge temperature even at elevated feed rates. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators rely on this bit for tight-tolerance work in steel, cast iron, and hard alloys.
This drill bit is suited for stub-length drilling applications where rigidity and accuracy are priorities over deep penetration. The shorter overall length of 2.4409 inches (62.00 mm) reduces deflection, making it well-matched for screw machine operations, CNC machining centers, and drill press setups requiring close tolerances. The straight cylindrical shank with a 0.2362-inch (6.00 mm) diameter fits standard collets and chucks. Coolant-through channels support wet or minimum-quantity lubrication (MQL) strategies common in production machining cells. The tapered web configuration adds core strength and improves point stability at the drilling entry.
Designed as an OEM-style screw machine length drill bit in the B051A-CPG series, sized for wire gauge 26 (0.1470 inches decimal). Fits standard straight-shank collets and chucks accepting a 0.2362-inch (6.00 mm) shank diameter.
This drill bit is installed and operated by machinists, CNC operators, and tool-and-die technicians. Before changing tooling, power down and lock out the machine per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the straight shank is fully seated and the chuck or collet is torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 0.5512 inches (14.00 mm) per pass without retracting to clear chips.
