The KENNAMETAL 4150785 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding production environments. It features a 35/64 inch (0.5469 inch) diameter with a 140-degree split-point geometry and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life under elevated cutting temperatures. The straight cylindrical shank and regular spiral flute profile deliver consistent chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole applications. With an overall length of 4.8819 inches and a flute length of 3.0315 inches, this drill is sized for standard jobber-length reach in CNC machining centers and drill presses. It is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and production shop technicians.
This drill is suited for production drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports moderate depth drilling up to 2.3622 inches. Right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation on CNC machining centers, knee mills, and radial arm drill presses in both job shop and high-volume production settings. The DIN 6537K specification designates dimensional and geometric conformance to an internationally recognized standard for solid carbide drills.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and milling machines accepting a straight cylindrical shank with a 0.4531 inch shank diameter. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys per supplier specification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and locked out per machine-specific lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the chuck or collet is clean and properly torqued to the shank diameter before running the spindle. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are set per the material being drilled before engaging the workpiece. Coolant-through is not supported on this drill; external coolant or mist lubrication is recommended for extended runs in steel and stainless steel.
