The KENNAMETAL 4150776 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding production and maintenance environments. The bit measures 33/64 inches (0.5156 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 4.882 inches and features a 140-degree split point for accurate self-centering entry and reduced thrust. A multilayer TiAlN coating extends tool life by increasing surface hardness and thermal resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The straight cylindrical shank and regular spiral flute geometry promote consistent chip evacuation and straightforward setup in standard drill chucks or toolholders. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this tool.
This jobber drill is suited for drilling into steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous materials in both production and job-shop settings. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 77 mm flute length support hole depths up to 2.362 inches (60 mm) before chip-packing becomes a concern. It conforms to DIN 6537K specification, making it a direct fit for applications requiring DIN-standard tooling on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes where a straight-shank jobber drill is specified.
Designed as a DIN 6537K-specification jobber drill for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet-style toolholders accepting a 0.5313-inch shank diameter. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the straight shank fully in a properly sized drill chuck or collet to prevent runout, which can chip or fracture carbide. Carbide is brittle - avoid interrupted cuts or side loading unless the machine and setup are rigid enough to prevent deflection. No coolant-through capability is present on this tool; apply external coolant or cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material when operating at elevated speeds.
