The KENNAMETAL 4150733 is a solid carbide jobber-length twist drill designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. It measures 9.60 mm in diameter with a 140-degree point angle and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life under high heat and abrasion. The drill has an overall length of 103.00 mm (4.06 inches) and a flute length of 61.00 mm (2.40 inches). The straight cylindrical shank seats into standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. Right-hand cutting direction and a regular spiral flute geometry move chips efficiently out of the hole. This drill is suited for production environments where carbide rigidity and coating performance justify the investment over high-speed steel alternatives.
This jobber drill is intended for use in metalworking applications across steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 140-degree split-style point make it a practical choice for through-hole and blind-hole drilling in CNC machining centers and drill presses running at appropriate feeds and speeds for carbide tooling. The DIN 6537K specification governs dimensional standards. Maximum drilling depth is 49.00 mm (1.93 inches). No coolant-through feature is present, so external or flood coolant should be directed at the cutting zone when drilling deep features or hard alloys.
Designed as a DIN 6537K standard solid carbide jobber drill suitable for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and drill presses equipped with collet chucks or Jacobs-style chucks accepting a 10 mm straight shank. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous alloys as specified by the manufacturer.
Machinist or CNC operator installation. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable tolerance before seating carbide tooling, as carbide is more brittle than high-speed steel and sensitive to lateral loading from excessive runout. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Do not use this drill in a hammer or impact-mode setting. Apply external flood or mist coolant directed at the cutting zone when drilling deep features or hard alloys, as this drill does not have coolant-through capability.
