The KENNAMETAL 4150680 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It has a 5.80 mm diameter and features a 140-degree point angle with a standard point geometry for fast, accurate entry. The multilayer TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when drilling at elevated cutting speeds. Overall length is 82.00 mm (3.2283 inches) with a flute length of 44.00 mm (1.7323 inches). This drill is intended for use by machinists and metalworking professionals operating CNC machines or manual drill presses where precision hole quality and tool longevity are required.
This drill bit is suited for production and job-shop drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute design provide efficient chip evacuation in these materials. Right-hand cutting direction and a straight cylindrical shank with a 6 mm shank diameter (0.4375 inches) make it compatible with standard drill chucks and tool holders commonly found in machine shop environments. Maximum drilling depth is 35.00 mm (1.3780 inches). The tapered web configuration adds strength at the drill point, which is particularly valuable when drilling harder alloys.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for machining operations requiring a 5.80 mm solid carbide jobber drill conforming to DIN 6537K. Compatible with any standard drill chuck or collet accepting a 6 mm straight cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by machinists using standard drill chucks or collet-style tool holders rated for the shank diameter. Confirm spindle runout is within acceptable limits before seating the drill, as excessive runout accelerates premature wear on carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before powering the spindle. Coolant-through is not supported on this drill; use flood or mist coolant applied externally where required by the workpiece material.
