The KENNAMETAL 4150656 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance metal cutting applications. It features a 4.30 mm (0.1693 inch) cutting diameter, a 140-degree point angle for reduced thrust and improved self-centering, and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The straight cylindrical shank measures 6 mm in diameter, and the overall length is 74.00 mm (2.9134 inches). Right-hand, regular spiral fluting evacuates chips efficiently. This bit is intended for use by machinists, tool and die professionals, and maintenance technicians working in production or job-shop environments.
This drill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 29.00 mm maximum drilling depth make it a practical choice for through-holes and moderate-depth bores in both manual and CNC drilling operations. The tapered web configuration aids in point strength and chip thinning at entry. It conforms to DIN 6537K, making it a standard-spec replacement or initial-setup drill for shops running metric tooling programs.
Designed as a DIN 6537K-specification jobber drill for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 6 mm shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools equipped with appropriate chuck capacity.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank fully in a clean, undamaged chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before production use. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing tooling. Do not exceed the recommended maximum drilling depth of 29.00 mm without retracting to clear chips, as carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to breakage under side-load or chip-packing conditions.
