The KENNAMETAL 4150637 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It carries a wire gauge size of 30, equal to 0.1285 inches in decimal, and features a 140-degree split-point geometry that reduces walking and improves chip formation on entry. A multilayer TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extends tool life when cutting at elevated speeds. The right-hand, regular spiral flute configuration evacuates chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole operations. This drill is built to DIN 6537K specification and is suited for production environments where consistent hole quality and tool longevity are critical priorities.
This jobber drill is intended for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. Its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web construction make it well suited for CNC machining centers and drill presses operating in job shops, tool rooms, and production facilities. The straight cylindrical shank seats in standard drill chucks and collets without additional adapters. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant directed at the cutting zone is recommended when drilling work-hardening alloys or long-chipping materials.
Designed as an OEM-specification solid carbide jobber drill conforming to DIN 6537K, compatible with standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 0.4844-inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
This drill bit is installed by machinists and tool-room technicians in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes equipped with appropriate chuck or collet toolholding. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use - carbide is brittle and should not be used if chipping or cracking is visible on the flutes. Follow the tooling manufacturer feed-and-speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material to avoid premature edge failure.
