The KENNAMETAL 4150457 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding machining environments. It features a 10.30 mm cutting diameter, a 140-degree point angle, and a multilayer TiAlN coating applied at the tip to extend tool life in abrasive and high-heat applications. The straight cylindrical shank measures 12.00 mm in diameter and the overall length is 102.00 mm (4.0157 inches), making it suited for stub-length drilling operations. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and heat control at the cutting zone. This bit is installed and used by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop settings.
This drill bit is intended for stub-length drilling applications where rigidity and precision are priorities. It handles materials where solid carbide tooling is specified, such as hardened steels, cast iron, and other difficult-to-machine alloys. The Series B051A-CPG designation follows DIN 6537K geometry standards, and the 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports applications with a maximum drilling depth of 40.00 mm (1.5748 inches). The right-hand spiral flute configuration with a regular flute type is suited for standard CNC machining center and screw machine applications.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and screw machines that accept a 12.00 mm straight cylindrical shank, conforming to DIN 6537K stub-length drill geometry within the B051A-CPG series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Confirm that the toolholder or collet chuck is rated for a 12.00 mm straight shank before securing the bit. Disengage machine power and release any stored energy in the spindle before changing tooling. Verify coolant-through passage alignment when using internal coolant systems to ensure proper flow at the cutting tip.
